Hard Water: Beautiful Hair’s Big Enemy

Hard Water Hair Damage

Not everyone is aware that the culprit behind their lackluster hair may be hard water coming from their shower! Depending on the amount of mineral build up on water-damaged hair, it can feel crunchy, limp, or have a false looking coating or shine. If your hair is dry, dull, or lifeless and simply won’t hold a curl it is very likely that hard water is the cause. And, if that’s not bad enough, hard water is the reason behind many heads of brassy orange color, or a coppery shade that isn’t a desirable hair color.colorproof_shampoo

Hard Water: Temporary Fix

Try a clarifying shampoo for a temporary fix. This is the easiest method of stripping build-up on the hair, however it won’t get rid of your hard water problem, and it may or may not be a strong enough product to strip away the minerals from your hair. However, it is worth a try and it is an easy product to use. Use it a few times over a week or so, initially. Always be sure to condition the hair after using a clarifying shampoo.

Hard Water: Permanent Fix

You can get this at your local hardware store for around $25.00 and will last you close to 6-months. Do not let harsh water damage and keep your hair from looking fabulous. The fix is simple so try it out for yourself!
