Growing out your hair: 5 tips

Growing out your hair

For some of us, growing out our hair can be a real struggle. Whether you are currently trying to reverse the effects of a bad pixie cut or are simple looking for a bit more length, here are some great tips to assist you on your journey of hair growth!

Growing Out Your Hair – Eat Plenty of Protein

One of the first tips for growing out your hair is to eat plenty of protein. Don’t worry, you won’t look like a bodybuilder, however your hair will look phenomenal. Hair is essentially made of protein, so skimping in this department slows down collagen production, which can actually stunt the growth of your hair.

Growing out your hair – Take Biotin

Biotin is also great for your skin and nails. Because biotin is a B vitamin your body can never get too much of it and will excrete the excess itself. Biotin is found in foods like eggs, fish, nuts and seed, but you can also buy supplements at your local health food store!

Growing out your hair – Avoid Excessive Heat

Give yourself and your hair a break from the heat if you want it to grow.  By preventing damage and breakage you are allowing your hair to be natural and thrive.

Growing out your hair – Eat Leafy Greens

Leafy greens are not just great for your body, but they are also great for your hair. Leafy greens are rich in iron, folate, Vitamin E and some B vitamins. Leafy greens nourish your cells on a deep level and keep you beautiful in all areas.

Growing out your hair – Moisturize with Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is amazing for just about everything and adding moisture to hair after drying is no exception.  Comb it through your hair focusing mainly on the ends. We don’t recommend putting it in your roots if you’ve already washed your hair since it might make them oily.
