Grammy Award Hairstyles 2013

2013 Grammy awards Hairstyles

The 2013 Grammys was once again for the rich, famous and uber talented to not only show off their singing and musical abilities but also their fashion and hairstyles too.  The Grammy Awards is more about the ‘look’ than the awards themselves. The clothes, the face, the hair – it all needs to be the right look to get the most time on the camera, the newspaper column inches and best slots in all the top magazines. The celebrities and their stylists spend months concocting the perfect look and planning the very best hairstyles for the Grammy Awards.  Here are Glo’s favourite 2013 Grammys hairstyles.

Adele’s glamorous retro Grammys hair style didn’t shock nor surprise anyone.  It was a very safe hairstyle option which has become her trademark lookAdele’s strawberry blonde hair is the best hair color for pale skin and she carries it off well. Adele’s retro beehive updo hairstyle was a perfect match for her retro outfit.  She scooped the award for Best pop solo performance and in our opinion the most predictable 2013 Grammys hairstyle.

Alexa Chung‘s 2013 Grammys hair style was a simple casual upstyle with a sophisticated edge.   Alexa’s glossy chocolate brown hair styled into a relaxed updo with a heavy side-swept fringe was complemented by her bright red lips which lifted the otherwise plain look. Alexa’s Grammy Awards Night hair was a huge improvement on her usual Grunge look.

Jennifer Lopez‘s winning 2013 Grammy Awards Hairstyle was the sleek and simple high ballet knot hairstyle. This sophisticated Grammys hairstyle teamed with statement eye make up and nude lips made her look her usual stunning self. Her bold look was perfectly accompanied by the star’s golden brown hair color which is always a perfect choice for her tanned complexion.

Beyonce’s Grammy awards hairstyle was a stark contrast to the voluminous waves seen at the Superbowl earlier this month.  Usually the singer’s hair is down, wavy and full of body.  Beyonce’s 2013 Grammy Awards hairstyle saw her usual big hair toned down into a low sleek ponytailtotally on trend for 2013.  Beyonce’s current sleek honey blonde ombre hair color is a great choice against her bronze skin tone.  Her bright red lipstick added color to her otherwise monochrome outfit.

Kelly Rowland has a gorgeous butter soft complexion, which compliments and enhances her dark brown hair colorFringes are another popular hair trend for 2013 and Kelly has opted for a thick full fringe with her 2013 Grammy awards hairstyle.

Taylor Swift’s 2013 Grammy Awards Hairstyle on the red carpet was this tidy yet casual upstyle with a braided headband.  She wore her hair down for her later Grammys performance but we love this simple and elegant style which is so easy to recreate.  A few loose hairs really softened this Grammys hairstyle making her look more feminine and romantic, in contrast to her more recent severe updo hairstyles.  The braid is a big hair trend for Spring 2013 and a big winner in Glo’s 2013 Grammy Hair Awards.

Jessica Biel, just like Kelly Rowland also opted for a thicker fuller fringe. Jessica wore her glossy golden brown hair with blonde tips down with her full statement fringe at the 2013 Grammy Awards, her balayage highlights really complimented her overall look.

Katy Perry‘s 2013 Grammy Hairstyle showcased her new dark black glossy hair color which was worn down with plenty of body. This black hair color can be one of the most difficult hair colors to achieve but with Katy’s sunkissed tan she shows us just how black hair color should be done!

Finally, our all time favourite hairstyles at the 2013 Grammys was Rihanna.  She was the talk of the Grammys looking fierce with her fiery red lips, understated make up, her long tumbling wavy hair extensions and of course those rumours of an engagement ring to finish off her more feminine look. Rihanna’s stretched ombre roots are a great look on this award winning star.
